Willie was a happy
baby turtle. He had fun swimming and
playing with his brothers and sisters.
But Willie was a
little different. He liked to explore. He got lost a lot. Then his Mama got mad at him because she had to
go find him.
One day Willie
smelled something interesting. He
followed his nose to a farmer’s field.
The farmer had planted Ripley tomatoes and Willie was hungry.
Willie crawled all
around the farmer’s tomato patch, eating and eating. He ate until he fell asleep.
But Willie didn’t
know that eating Ripley tomatoes does strange things to turtles. (And people too, probably.)
When Willie woke
up, he was GREEN! And ORANGE!
His Mama was VERY
mad at him because he would ALWAYS be green and orange! And his brothers and sisters made fun of him because
he was so funny looking!
I wish the story
of Willie had a happy ending, but it doesn’t.
Because Willie didn’t have his natural camouflage any more, a coyote saw
him. The coyote ate Willie. Poor Willie.
Moral
of the story:
Don’t buy Ripley tomatoes. Buy ours.
They taste better and we guarantee that they won’t turn you funny
colors!
